Richard Perle wasn't even in the US when Tenet says he was in this key quote from Tenet's book. This morning, as perfect example of how these untruths can easily take on a life on their own, LA Times columnist Tim Rutten uses the discredited Perle quote in his review of Tenet's book.

Giuliani versus Obama on Terror

Rudi yesterday made a speech in which he contends that if the Democrats win the White House, we will go on the defensive against terrorism. Under GW we've taken the fight to the bad guys. His statements angered Barack Obama. He thinks Rudi has impugned his patriotism. But where did Rudi do that?
